Mediawiki uses some terminology that may not be familiar.
- article refers to a page on the wiki about the specific person, place, thing, event, or concept mentioned in the page's title. "Page" is used as a synonym.
- magic words are strings of text that the MediaWiki software associates with a value or a function. See Mediawiki's Help:Magic words for more detail. Here are some examples:
- __TOC__ forces the table of contents to appear at that location
- {{CURRENTYEAR}} makes the current year appear at that location
- Namespace
- page is used interchangeably with "article" in TS Wiki.
