The Articles of Incorporation state these objectives:
 
(a) To operate for the public betterment of education and religion, for universal progress in the spiritual good of mankind, by promoting and perpetuating in public esteem and understanding, and by protecting and preserving for future generations, knowledge of the case for Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, for her works, for her writings and for the teachings received through her agency during her lifetime and which have had a marked influence on the religious, philosophic, ethical and scientific thought of the twentieth century.
 
(b)  To establish, add to, and permanently maintain, by acquisitions purchased and donated, a reference and research library and central document depository consisting of original source materials including books, pamphlets, magazines, microfilms, and manuscripts, both common and rare, both published and unpublished, together with related memorabilia and relics, comprising information of value which ought to be preserved for present and future historians and for coming generations, as relating to the case for Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, for her works, for her writings and for the teachings received through her agency during her lifetime.
 
(c) To establish, add to, and permanently maintain, by acquisitions donated and purchased through subscription to necessary news-clipping, reporting services, a continuously updated file of all references and information relating to Madame Blavatsky and “Theosophy” as such notices may appear in the world press and in current books and other public communications; and, by so doing, to preserve an unique fund and record for future historians in the fields of religion, philosophy, ethics, science and human understanding.
