C. Ramiah was a Tehsildar of Madras and member of the Madras Branch of the Theosophical Society, of which T. Subba Row was then the president.

He had a dream of a Mahatma in 1864, and then three more of another Mahatma in 1880, 1881, and 1883. When saw a portrait of the Master K.H. he recognized this was the subject of his dreams. Later, he had visions of the Master during meditation.[1]
