Tenzin Gyatso, the Fourteenth Dalai Lama celebrates his 85th birthday on July 6. The spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhists, and leader of the Tibetan government-in-exile lives in Dharamsala, India. Since 1956 he has had close ties with the Theosophical Society. In 1989 he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
