This letter is Letter No. 57 in Letters from the Masters of the Wisdom, First Series. Mahatma Narayan writes a brief greeting to A. Govindacharya.[1] In editions 1945-1974, before the First Series was resequenced in 1988, this was called Letter 44.

The recipient is probably Alkondavilli Govindacharya. Dobbspet is near Bangalore. He was a distinguished Tamil scholar and wrote several books. His most important work was an English translation of the Bhagavad Gita with the commentary of Shri Rāmānujāchārya.[2]
