W. J.. Colville

W. J. Colville (September 5, 1860 - January 15, 1917) was an English medium, lecturer, and author interested in Spiritualism, New Thought and other esoteric subjects. Marc Edmund Jones wrote of Colville as as "having had great influence in preserving a measure of reconciliation between Spiritualism and Theosophy."[1]

Personal life

William Wilberforce Juvenal Colville was born on September 5, 1860 at sea near the south of England.

He died in San Francisco on January 15, 1917 at the age of 56.

Theosophical Society connections

Marc Edmund Jones became acquainted with Colville in 1915. "He eventually lived in Colville's room at Hyperion House where he had significant 'spiritual experiences.'"[2]

Lecturing

Mr. Colville lectured at the Golden Gate Branch Theosophical Society in San Francisco in 1896 on the subject of the Biblical account of "Creation."[3]
