Seymour D. Ballard was a writer and lecturer for the Theosophical Society in America and in the 1970s-1980s served on the advisory board of The American Theosophist.
On July 29, 1986, he presented Blavatsky Lecture at the Annual Convention of the Theosophical Society in England at the College of Ripon and York, St John, Ripon. His topic was "The Role of Māyā in Man's Evolution".
