Robert Edward Duncan (January 7, 1919 – February 3, 1988) was an American poet and key figure in the San Francisco Renaissance. He was adopted by Edwin and Minnehaha Symmes, a family of devout Theosophists, and was later a student of the Western esoteric tradition. However, he was never a member of the Theosophical Society in America.[1]
