In the Theosophical septenary model of the universe and man as found in the writings of H. P. Blavatsky and later Theosophists the second principle in cosmos refers to the astral light, while in human beings it is the liṅga śarīra.

However, it is important to note that in the early description of the seven principles of man by A. O. Hume[1] and A. P. Sinnett[2] the liṅga śarīra is the third, instead of the second principle.
