Matsya (devanāgarī: मत्स्य) (Fish in Sanskrit) was the first Avatar of Vishnu in Hinduism. Before the great flood mentioned in Hinduism the Matsya Avatar save the pious and the first man, Manu, and advises him to build a giant boat.
