Plato's account
Theosophical viewpoint
Poseidonis
In 1882, Master K.H. wrote:
The great event — the triumph of our "Sons of the Fire Mist", the inhabitants of "Shamballah" (when yet an island in the Central Asian Sea) over the selfish but not entirely wicked magicians of Poseidonis occurred just 11,446 ago.[1]
This means that the sinking of the last large island, Poseidonis, occurred in the year 9,564 B.C.E.
Research of Sinnett, Scott-Elliot, and Leadbeater
NOTE: Joscelyn Godwin wrote of this research in his book Atlantis and the Cycles of Time.
