Bhrantidarsanatah is a Sanskrit term used by H. P. Blavatsky in her book The Secret Doctrine. The technical spelling is bhrānti-darśana (भ्रान्तिदर्शन). Its meaning is "erroneous perception," and was defined by Blavatsky as, "'false comprehension or apprehension'; something conceived of on false appearances as a mayavic, illusionary form."[1]

In Yogasutra I.30, Patanjali lists "bhrānti-darśana" as one of the nine obstacles for the spiritual practice.
