Edwin S. Ralphs

Edwin S. Ralphs (1819-1883) was one of the Founders of the Theosophical Society.

Ralphs was born in Wales in 1819. He married Jane Frances Williams and emigrated to the United States as a young man. They had several children and lived in Brooklyn, where Ralphs died on August 3, 1883.

In 1875 when the Theosophical Society was formed, Ralphs was president of the company that produced Goulding´s Manual of New York and General Statistical Guide, 1875. He also held other positions in business as a vice president and as a cashier, according to business directories of the time.
