Swarna Kumari Devi Ghosal (1857-1933) was the leading force behind the creation of the Ladies’ Theosophical Society Branch at Calcutta, of which she was the Secretary. She was the wife of Theosophist Babu J. N. Ghosal and daughter of the venerated Babu Devendro Nath Tagore. She was described as "a brilliantly well-educated lady, of great intellectual powers, a well-known author, and accomplished in every way".[1]
