Édouard Schuré (1841–1929) was French philosopher and writer whose work Les Grand Initiés. Esquisse de l'histoire secrète des religions (The Great Initiates, 1889) had a large impact on early Theosophists. He was briefly a member of the Theosophical Society, admitted to the French Section on February 16, 1885.[1] He was acquainted with its founder, Helena Petrovna Blavatsky.
