Bhumi (devanāgarī: भूमि bhūmi) in Hindu mythology is the divine wife of Varaha, an Avatar of Vishnu. She is the representative goddess of the Mother Earth. She is the mother of Sita and the demon Narakasura.
Bhūmi (as a synonym of pṛthivī) is used for earth as one of the five elements (the others being water (apa or jala), fire (tejas or agni), air or wind (vāyu), and aether or space (akash).
