The British Section of the Theosophical Society was the first National Section to be organized, on October 19, 1888.
The Constitution was prepared by Col. Olcott, then visiting London, with only A. P. Sinnett voting against it. The Lodges forming the Section are: Blavatsky Lodge, Scottish T. S., Dublin, Cambridge, Glasgow. The London Lodge, then headed by Mr. Sinnett, remains outside the British Section. Dr. Archibald Keightley is chosen as President pro tem. of the Section.
