White Lotus Day is a Theosophical celebration held on May 8 to commemorate the death in 1891 of Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, co-founder of the Theosophical Society. Theosophists remember her with readings of her book The Voice of the Silence, plus Edwin Arnold’s Light of Asia and the Bhagavad Gita. The white lotus flower represents the manifestation of perfected life.
