Mahatma Letters is a term applied by Theosophists to correspondence written or annotated by the Masters of the Wisdom. Most letters have been published in the books The Mahatma Letters to A. P. Sinnett, Letters from the Masters of the Wisdom, and Mrs. Holloway and the Mahatmas. Other letters are still being located in private collections, and some have been presented in Unpublished Mahatma Letters.
The following ten unpublished letters form a special category because the Masters directed Helena Petrovna Blavatsky to preserve them. Each provides significant details about the history of the early Theosophical Society and its members. They are listed according to the date written.
Many thanks go to the private repository that recently transferred the letters to the Adyar Archives; to Daniel Caldwell and Doss McDavid, who got permission to have the documents scanned; and to Michele Sender, who transcribed the texts.
