Emile Karl Ludwig Von Sayn-Wittgenstein (April 21, 1824 - September 16, 1878) was a Russian Prince and close friend of Mme. Blavatsky and her family.

Wittgenstein was admitted to the Theosophical Society in Vevey, Switzerland on December 9, 1877, making him one of the first people to join the Society.[1]
