The Theosophical Society was founded in September, 1875 in New York City. According to The Golden Book of the Theosophical Society ,[1] the individuals present at the founding included these:
- Helena Petrovna Blavatsky
- Henry Steel Olcott
- William Quan Judge
- George Felt
- Charles Sotheran
- Dr. Charles E. Simmons
- H. D. Monachesi
- Charles C. Massey
When the term The Founders is used the early writings, it usually refers to Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and Henry Steel Olcott.
