The Universal Brotherhood and Theosophical Society came into being at the 1898 Chicago convention of the Theosophical Society in America, when that organization was folded into the short-lived Universal Brotherhood. Headquarters was at 144 Madison Avenue, New York City, in the building purchased by the Aryan Theosophical Society in 1892.
More information is available in a publication available online: Universal Brotherhood: Its Department, Methods, and Scope, published in 1899 at the Aryan Theosophical Press in New York.
