- 1875 – Helena Petrovna Blavatsky is thought to be dead due to her injured leg as she lay cold, pulse-less, and rigid. However, within a few hours she revived.
- 1883 – At a meeting of the British Theosophical Society the English Fellows decide, at Dr. Anna Kinsford's wish and seconded by A. P. Sinnett, to change the name of their Lodge to that of London Lodge of the Theosophical Society.
