- 1878 – Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and Henry Steel Olcott left New York for India.
- 1882 – Mme. Blavatsky and Col. Olcott left Bombay to establish the new Headquarters at Adyar, Madras.
- 1884 – Mme. Blavatsky arrived at Madras after her visit to Europe and received a tumultuous reception. She spoke at a Pachaiappa's Hall packed with supporters, declaring that Emma Coulomb's letters, as they stand, had not been written by her.
